    Why the empty page matters

Scanned reports, theses and contracts rarely arrive laid out the way you need to print or annotate them. A single blank sheet fixes a surprising number of problems, from a chapter that lands on the wrong side of a duplex print to a case file that needs room for a margin of handwritten notes.

A blank page is a decision, not an absence.

When printing double sided, odd and even pages sit on opposite sides of the same sheet. To make every chapter open on a right-hand page, a blank is needed before any chapter that would otherwise start on a left-hand page. Students interleave a blank after every page of a paper to write notes next to the text, and teams add one at the end so a signature or appendix can be slipped in later.

Open a seam or set a rule

Click the plus between two pages, or pick a rule such as after every page or at the end, then choose how many blank pages and what size.

Press Insert and Download. The new PDF is assembled locally, with a page map and a final page count so you can verify the result.

    The Duplex Fixer

List the pages where chapters begin. We work out which ones need a blank sheet so that every chapter starts on a right-hand (odd) page.

Load a PDF in the tool above to apply these rules.

Each blank shifts the following chapters by one page, and the check accounts for that.

    Reader letters

    Is my file uploaded?

No. Your PDF is read and rebuilt inside your browser, so the document never leaves your device. Nothing is stored and no account is needed.

Can I match the size of the neighbouring page?

Yes. The default size setting copies the page dimensions of your document so blank sheets blend in. You can also choose A4, Letter or a custom size in millimetres.

Does it keep links and bookmarks?

Pages are split and recombined, so text and images are kept, but interactive extras such as internal links and bookmarks may not survive. Check the result if your file relies on them.

How do I add a page after every page for notes?

Choose 'After every N pages', set N to 1, press Add rule, then Insert & Download. Every page is followed by an empty sheet for handwritten notes.

    What about password-protected PDFs?

Encrypted files are rejected with a clear message. Unlock the PDF first with a password you know, then add your blank pages. Passwords cannot be bypassed.
