How the deadline is worked out

    01

    Set start and duration

Pick a start date, choose add, count between or work back, then enter how many days, weeks, months or hours the deadline allows.

    02

    Choose weekends and holidays

Tick which weekdays are off, then add holiday dates by hand or drop a CSV or TXT list. Every skipped day is listed and nothing is dropped silently.

    03

Read, copy or add to calendar

The due date, countdown and day-by-day strip update live. Copy the summary, download an .ics calendar event, or save the full breakdown as text.

    Common deadlines

    Deadline calculator FAQ

What is the difference between business days and calendar days?

Calendar days count every day, including weekends and holidays. Business days skip the weekend days you select and any holiday dates you add, so 10 business days usually lands about two weeks out.

    Does the start day count?

By default the start day is excluded, so day 1 is the next day. Turn off Exclude start day to count the start date as day 1 when it is a counted day.

    How are holidays matched?

Holidays are matched by exact calendar date in YYYY-MM-DD form. In a CSV or TXT file the first recognisable date on each line is used, and lines that cannot be read are listed so you can fix them.

How do timezones and daylight saving work?

Everything is calculated in your browser's local time. Day-based units move by calendar day, so daylight saving shifts never change the date. Hours are added as exact elapsed time.

What happens when a month has fewer days?

Adding months keeps the day number when possible and otherwise clamps to the last day, so 31 January plus 1 month gives the last day of February.
